Robbers Cave: Cattail Pond/Rough Canyon Trail Loop ā€“ 4 mi

The Rough Canyon Trail at Robbers Cave Park (Latimer County, OK, near Wilburton) is a very enjoyable scenic 3-mile loop. A variation on this hike I enjoy is to take north part of the Cattail Pond Trail bypassing part of the Rough Canyon Trail and making a 3.9-mile loop.

Billy Creek Trail South Loop Fall Pics (Ouachita Forest)

Last fall I had a very enjoyable hike on the south loop of the Billy Creek Trail south loop on Winding Stair Mountain in the Ouachita National Forest (LeFlore County, Oklahoma). These are some additional photos I took on my November 9, 2019 hike.

Hobbs: Hidden Diversity – Dutton Hollow Loop – 4 mi

One of the cool areas at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area (Benton County, near Rogers) is the Hidden Diversity Multi-Use Trail. This is a complex of loops and spurs designed for hikers, cyclists, and equestrians. Since it is designed for these multiples uses, it does not feature many steep parts.

Sequoyah State Park: Deer Run Trail ā€“ 2 mi

Deer Run Trail at Sequoyah State Park (near Wagoner and Tahlequah) is an easy and pleasant 2.4 mile forested out-and-back hike (1.2 miles each way). It is open to hikers and cyclists. It was maintained in nice condition when I walked it in July.

Oxley: Oxbow Lake/North Woods Trails – 2 mi

It’s nice to come across wilderness trails within a city. The Oxbow Lake and North Woods trails at Oxley Nature Center in Tulsa are a couple of scenic trails that make an easy 2-mile semi-loop with lush woods and pretty lake (pond) views.

Sequoyah State Park Trail Maps

Sequoyah State Park in northeast Oklahoma (Cherokee County, near Wagoner and Tahlequah) is a really cool park. It has over a half dozen trails which are all accessible to hikers and walkers with many also being open to bikes as well.
