Last fall I had a very enjoyable hike on the south loop of the Billy Creek Trail south loop on Winding Stair Mountain in the Ouachita National Forest (LeFlore County, Oklahoma). These are some additional photos I took on my November 9, 2019 hike.

Autumn hikes featuring great fall foliage pics.
One of the cool areas at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area (Benton County, near Rogers) is the Hidden Diversity Multi-Use Trail. This is a complex of loops and spurs designed for hikers, cyclists, and equestrians. Since it is designed for these multiples uses, it does not feature many steep parts.
The Harris Creek Trail at Cossatot River State Park-Natural Area (Howard and Polk Counties) is a great intermediate level 3.2-mile loop trail with some very nice views. There are some steep parts, but they do not last long. The trail is also dotted with benches so you can rest after a steep climb.
This is a 2.5-mile stretch of the Ouachita Trail that goes from Queen Wilhelmina State Park heading east to Highway 88 (Talimena Scenic Highway). The 1.5-mile Fitness Course walking path in Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith is an enjoyable way to get some exercise outside. The trail has almost no elevation change and has a shale rock surface. It is a pretty easy walk.
